River View Dance Team

 We are a competitive middle school dance team based out of River View School in Kaukauna, WI., however as long as you are in the Kaukauna School District, you can try out for our team.

Our team is made up of 5th - 8th graders.  Try-outs are held in April. We hold practices in summer every other Wednesday night.  Once our season starts we have three practices a week. Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Our season runs from September to January.  The girls perform at all 8th grade boys home basketball games. We also participate in the Kaukauna Christmas Parade as well as local dance competitions and host a JV/Middle School/Junior All-Star  dance competition in January.

Expectations

We expect the girls to be on time

On time is late – early is on time

We expect the girls to know when events are happening

We will keep them informed – they need to remember

We expect the girls to be responsible & organized

Keep track of their own things – We are not their babysitters

We don’t like picking up after everyone

If we find it – you don’t claim it – it will be given to Goodwill along with the schools lost and found

We expect the girls to be understanding of one another

We all will not see eye to eye all the time – remember everyone is entitled to

 their opinion – you will not get your way all of the time.

We expect the girls to work hard

If they work as hard as humanly possible;  

The end product will be worth the work and we will succeed!

We expect the girls to listen when being taught and spoken to

Don’t talk when others are trying to teach-if you have a question wait until others are done talking to ask. If you listen to all the time your questions will probably be answered

We expect the girls to take pom/dance seriously

This is not an easy sport-It is a lot of hard work.

We expect the girls to get along when doing poms

We know it is hard to get along all of the time – and people do get on each others nerves-just remember you are not perfect either try to understand and support your teammates.

We expect the girls to represent our school in a mature manner

We never want to see a girl in or out of school acting in a manner that is unbecoming of them.

We all know right from wrong!

We expect the girls to reach high and have high goals & dreams

With every goal we meet we come that much closer to achieving our dreams

Most of all we expect the girls to have fun!

For if they are not having fun we have not done our job!
